Since 2014, we’ve come together to dive deeper, to raise the ideas that our industry often leaves untouched. Be Sage Conference was built for event and wedding professionals who have already put in the years. You know the basics. You’ve built the business. At this point, you’re not looking for yet another panel on branding or a refresher course on Instagram captions. Now, it’s about the harder conversations — the ones about exit strategies and equity, hiring your first director, building a sales team that doesn’t fully rely on you to function. Real challenges faced by people at the top of their game with nowhere else to bring them. 

That’s what we built. Three days of deeper learning and masterminding — hard-core and brass-tacks, with a room full of people who get it.

Our Values
We care about a few things more than anything else here. We want the education to be real, so every speaker has to prove they've actually done what they're teaching more than once before we let them near the stage, and once they're up there, they don't get treated any differently than the person sitting in the audience.
We built this conference for people who are really seasoned in this industry, not for people who are just getting started. We know that the conversations you have only make sense if you've actually lived them. Every detail is planned on purpose, from who you sit next to to what you read in the conference book., We know you notice and feel the small things just as much as the big ones. 
This isn’t passive learning of sitting and listening.. We know that working through your challenges while at Be Sage will push you forward to real change. It’s about working through something real, with people who understand exactly what you're dealing with. And at the end of the day, when the sessions end, we take celebrating just as seriously as we take education.

How We Choose Our Speakers
We don’t invite speakers to get on stage and tell you how great they are. We look for educators who've built multiple businesses, or built an entire profession out of helping others do it, often from outside our industry entirely. Every speaker submits an outline, reviews it with us, drafts their presentation, and hands over at least five real how-tos before they ever take the stage. If it doesn't teach you something you can use, it doesn't make the cut.

Fun fact: there are no separate tables for speakers. They sit with everyone else because they’re part of this community too, not visitors just passing through. They have as much to learn from us as we do them.

Everyone’s Invited and Everyone Belongs 
There’s no clique here. There is always a seat at the table. Be Sage is the place for people who’ve been doing this for ~10+ years and want to be with others who just ‘get it’. After all, everyone in your own community looks up to you, it’s not always easy to find a place to get peer-to-peer advice. 

At Be Sage, you're sitting next to someone who might be an award-winning designer of twenty years, or someone five years into building something of their own, and there's something to learn from both directions. About a third of our room returns year after year. For a lot of them, this isn't just a conference, it's where they belong.

How Do We Design the Experience? Glad You Asked. 
We match seating to who you are and what you’re working through, and we move it around session to session, so by day three, you’ve engaged with people you’d never have met on your own. It’s not left to chance. 

Every speaker's lesson gets built into a conference book you can actually use, and every mastermind session ends with you working through a real challenge, not just talking about one. This isn't a sit-and-listen conference. It's a get-to-work one.

The Conference Culture 
We work hard while we’re there. That’s the point. But we have fun too. This is a chosen family, built one gathering at a time for 12 years, in rooms from Chicago to San Miguel de Allende, to wherever we land next. 

About a third of our community comes back every single year. If you've built a business for 10, 15, or 20 years, you know what it's like to be the person everyone else comes to for advice and how rare it is to find your own room of peers. This is that room. People come back because it's the one place all year where they don't have to explain themselves.
